Head of Circular Fiber Sales and Services

Looptworks is an innovative textile circularity company and a certified B corp based in Gresham, Oregon. We are on a mission to rid the world of excess textiles and change the material make up of textiles to include textile-to-textile recycled content.

Looptworks is looking for an energetic, well-versed sales leader to join our leadership team and be a key voice in the transformation of the textile industry into the circular economy for textiles. This position will lead the company in interaction with the key players in the global textile ecosystem to build long lasting and mutually beneficial relationships.  You will create circularity programs and introduce recycled fibers into the global supply chain to be reused rather than virgin materials. This work will positively impact landfill avoidance, water conservation, and carbon emissions avoidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and lead a team of sales professionals and account managers for maximum results with a long-term perspective.
  • Establish, maintain and grow exciting strategic partnerships with global brands, retailers and manufacturers.
  • Forecast and execute annual revenue and profit plans for input feedstock and fiber sales.
  • Establish sales goals for each member of the sales team by projecting expected sales volume and profit margin for feedstock and fiber types.
  • Implements sales programs by developing action plans and programs to ensure revenue consistency and long term contracted business agreements.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Establish excellent relationships with key customers through frequent and reliable communication skills.
  • Follow market conditions, competitors and opportunities by staying plugged into industry updates.
  • Maintains sales team by recruiting, orienting, motivating and training team members.
  • Maintain sales team results by engaging with team members in planning and executing team objectives.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.
  • Work cross functionally with all parts of the business to ensure seamless communication, synchronized process and efficient team effort.
  • Participate in all leadership meetings, board meetings and key investor meetings as required.

This can be in person or a hybrid role that will have a combination of in- person and remote work hours.  This schedule will be flexible based on customer meetings and business needs.  Required travel approximately 20% of the time to industry conferences and customer meetings.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience working directly in the global textile industry.  Specifically working in material or fiber sales into the supply chain.
  • Driven self-starter
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven skills of building relationships with key customers and working together with their cross functional teams.
  • Adept at creating, reviewing and negotiating long term contracts
  • Meeting sales goals by monitoring progress quarterly
  • Analyzing sales data and associated information
  • Creating and implementing detailed sales programs
  • Developing budgets
  • Motivate and coach up sales team
  • Experience being a key member of a company leadership team

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing or business administration.
  • 10 plus years of textile/apparel experience.
  • Ability to learn and teach technical sales skills at the fiber or fabric level.
  • Two to three years of experience as a sales leader that can communicate effectively with senior management roles.
  • Five+ years of sales experience.
  • Proven track record of positive sales performance.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft 365, PowerPoint, CRM, Linkedin, knowledge of pipeline building with digital marketing tools a plus.
