Machine Operator

Job Overview: The Machine Operator operates complex machinery safely, accurately and efficiently.  To help meet the production fulfillment needs of internal and external customers.  Maintain high standards of company procedures and codes of conduct.  Uphold a manufacturing process that is safe, efficient and sanitary. 

Key responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating machinery: preparing the machinery for operation, starting it and making adjustment to the process.  
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance:  Identifying and fixing minor equipment issues and performing routine maintenance. 
  • Quality Control:  Performing quality checks on product and ensuring compliance with customer specifications. 
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and dust masks. Inspecting the machinery and the work area for potential safety risks.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate with other equipment operators regarding incoming loads or system problems to ensure efficient operations and meet production targets.
  • Record Keeping: Follow reporting and record keeping procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or recycling environment is preferred. 
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical activities that require standing for long periods, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and regularly lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Safety Awareness: Basic understanding of workplace safety protocols and a commitment to following them diligently.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Previous experience:  As a machine operator and/or current forklift certification are preferred but not required.

Work Environment

  • The position operates within an industrial or warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to variations in temperature, noise, odors, dust, and lint.
  • The role requires adherence to strict safety standards and the consistent use of personal protective equipment.

Job Details: Full-time permanent

Location: On-site, Gresham, Oregon

Pay Range: $22-$26 per hour
