Looptworks Achieves Global Recycled Standard Certification

Looptworks Produces GRS Certified Recycled Textiles

Looptworks Earns Global Recycled Standard Certification — A Game Changer for Textile Circularity

We’re excited to announce a milestone that marks a new chapter in Looptworks’ sustainability journey. Looptworks has earned Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, a globally recognized benchmark that verifies recycled content, traceability, and responsible processing across the supply chain. This certification took effect in December 2025 and reflects our commitment to transparency, environmental stewardship, and circular systems leadership.  Textile World

What GRS Certification Means

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) comes from Textile Exchange, a leading nonprofit focused on sustainable materials standards. It’s a voluntary, internationally recognized framework that verifies recycled content and tracks materials from feedstock to final product. In addition, GRS ensures that certified operations meet environmental, social, and chemical management criteria — all verified by third-party auditors.  Textile Communications

Put simply, GRS gives brands and supply chain partners confidence that recycled fibers genuinely meet verified sustainability requirements and that traceability is maintained at every step. Textile Exchange

Why This Matters for Looptworks and Our Partners

How We Got Here

Achieving GRS certification is a major step forward for Looptworks and for the customers who rely on our recycled fiber solutions. Here’s why it’s important:

  • Verified recycled content: GRS ensures that the recycled fiber we produce meets internationally recognized recycled content criteria. Textile Exchange

  • Traceability you can trust: Every certified batch can be traced through our system, from reclaimed textile feedstock to finished recycled fiber. Textile Exchange

  • Environmental and social standards: The certification process examines responsible chemical use, environmental management, and social responsibility. Textile Exchange

  • Credibility for brands: Our partners can now confidently use GRS-verified materials in their products and communicate verified sustainability claims to their customers. Textile World

As Looptworks co-founder and CEO Scott Hamlin said at the time of certification, “GRS certification confirms that our recycling system meets globally recognized standards, and it gives brands confidence that the recycled fibers they source from us can support credible, verified recycled claims.”

Looptworks operates the first fully circular textile recycling system in the United States, capable of handling a wide range of pre- and post-consumer textiles and transforming them into high-quality recycled fibers. Our state-of-the-art facility and proprietary processes are designed to recover material value at scale — and now, GRS certification validates that work against global best practices. Textile World

Achieving GRS certification required rigorous, independent auditing of our systems, processes, and traceability documentation. We welcomed the challenge because this level of verification enhances trust and transparency for everyone we work with — from brands and manufacturers to sustainability managers and end consumers.

Building a Circular Textile Future

With GRS certification in hand, Looptworks is better positioned to accelerate textile circularity worldwide. This achievement strengthens our ability to:

  • Support brand partners with verified recycled fiber supply chains

  • Contribute to credible sustainability reporting and ESG performance

  • Expand adoption of circular materials in apparel, accessories, and beyond

  • Reduce reliance on virgin materials and minimize waste

In short, GRS certification elevates the impact and credibility of circular textile solutions — and positions Looptworks as a trusted partner for organizations building real, measurable sustainability into their products and operations.

Circularity isn’t a buzzword anymore. It’s a business strategy.
