Earth Day 2024: Textile Recycling Facility Update

Looptworks celebrates Earth Day 2024 with a short video from our founder.

Scaling Textile Recycling for a Circular Future

At Looptworks, sustainability is not a trend. It is our operating model. Since 2009, we have focused on one goal: eliminating textile waste.

We do this by turning discarded materials into high-quality, usable fiber.

Today, that mission is more urgent than ever. Textile waste continues to grow each year. At the same time, demand for responsible materials is rising. As a result, scalable textile recycling is essential.

That is where Looptworks leads.

We use fiber-to-fiber recycling and downcycling to transform pre- and post-consumer textiles into valuable raw materials. These fibers support both nonwoven applications and yarn spinning. In turn, this keeps textiles in use and out of landfills.

As we approach Earth Day, we are taking the next step.

Looptworks is expanding into a business-to-business model. This shift allows us to support brands, manufacturers, and institutions at scale. At the center of this work is our circular textile recycling facility in Portland.

This facility is built for performance. It processes a wide range of materials, including blended textiles. Most recyclers cannot handle these inputs. We can.

Our process starts where others end. We accept materials that are often rejected. Then, we convert them into high-quality recycled fiber using our proprietary mechanical system.

The result is consistent, traceable output. Made in the USA.

This is not a pilot program. It is operational infrastructure designed to deliver measurable impact.

Earth Day is a moment to reflect. However, it is also a moment to act. Textile recycling helps reduce carbon emissions. It also conserves water and supports circular supply chains.

The path forward is clear. Brands need scalable solutions. The industry needs infrastructure. Together, we can turn waste into resources.

If you are exploring solutions for excess textile inventory, now is the time to start the conversation.

Calling All Businesses with Excess Textiles If your business deals with excess textiles, our solutions team is eager to collaborate!  Together, let’s weave a greener tapestry for generations to come.
